The Malleus Maleficarum

The Malleus Maleficarum, otherwise known as the Hammer of witches was the infamous book that help kick off two centuries of the Witch hunts in Europe. In 1484 Pope Innocent VIII issued the bull Summis desiderantes affectibus, in which he deplored the spread of witchcraft in Germany and authorized Sprenger and Kraemer to extirpate it. all of this was started by Kreamer who was angry that a woman who worked at an Inn Talked back to him and spoke her mind. The book shifted the view of the church which origanlally belived that a good christian didn't belive in magic becasue the only power was with God, to Magic is real and a product of the devil.
