William the Conqueror

1028 - 9 September 1087. The Norman duke who Conquered England after defeating Harold Godwinson at the battle of the Hastings. William would created reforms to the saxons language, by incorperating Norman. Examples of this would be in the terms used and how it was used, Norman words were seen as more refined when compared to saxon. while a pesants blouse might look fair in saxon, it was beautiful in Norman, words assoicated with power also came from the Normans (becuase they were the ones in power), the Normans even reformed the saxon alphabet.
